The 2025 Oscars ceremony once again brought together the best of the film industry in the United States, with a night filled with both surprises and expected victories. The big winner was Anora, which claimed five awards, including the most prestigious: Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.
Directed by Sean Baker, the film also triumphed in Best Editing and Best Actress for Mikey Madison, cementing its position as the Academy’s clear favorite.
In acting categories, Adrien Brody won Best Actor for his role in The Brutalist, while Cynthia Erivo and Karla Sofía Gascón stood out among the nominees. Supporting roles were also celebrated: Kieran Culkin earned Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain, and Zoe Saldaña won Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Pérez.
Other key awards included I’m Still Here for Best International Feature, Flow for Best Animated Feature, and No Other Land for Best Documentary. Technical categories also shined: The Brutalist took home Best Cinematography and Best Original Score, while Dune: Part Two dominated in Sound and Visual Effects.
