Javier Milei confirmed that Argentina’s embassy will relocate to Jerusalem in 2026, denouncing Palestinian terrorist propaganda.
In the Israeli Parliament, Javier Milei confirmed that Argentina’s embassy will relocate to Jerusalem in 2026, strengthening bilateral ties and denouncing Palestinian terrorist propaganda.
Argentine President Javier Milei reaffirmed on Thursday his government’s commitment to Israel and confirmed that Argentina’s embassy will officially move to Jerusalem in 2026.
The announcement came during a speech before the Israeli Parliament, where he highlighted the strategic alliance between the two nations and sharply criticized Palestinian terrorism as well as the international community.
“I am proud to announce before you that in 2026 we will carry out the relocation of our Embassy to the city of West Jerusalem, just as we promised,” Milei declared, speaking under the gaze of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he had met the day before.

The Argentine leader stressed that Israel, along with the United States, is the country’s “most important strategic partner.” He added: “Argentina was one of the first nations to recognize the State of Israel,” delivering a message of strong political and diplomatic support.
In his address, Milei repeatedly condemned Hamas, calling it a “savage and terrorist organization.” He added: “With Hamas’s attack on October 7, 2023, the Israeli people were subjected to the most atrocious aggression in the last 80 years, and the entire free world witnessed the face of the most abject barbarism.”
Milei also warned of the resurgence of antisemitism worldwide: “Alongside the advance of barbaric terrorism, the dark and ancient shadow of antisemitism is once again spreading like a cancer across the contemporary world.”
He went on to criticize international organizations for allowing themselves to be “manipulated” by what he described as Hamas’s “terrorist propaganda.”
He then posed a moral challenge to the global community: “The free world must urgently rediscover its moral compass. And finally decide: Do you prefer to stand with terror or with freedom? Do you prefer life or death? Good or evil? To decide, one only needs to look at the facts.”
The embassy relocation decision has drawn criticism from the Palestinian Authority and other Arab groups, since East Jerusalem has been under Israeli occupation since the 1967 Six-Day War.
While Israel considers the city its unified capital, most of the international community does not recognize it as such and supports a two-state solution, envisioning Jerusalem as a shared capital for both nations.
With this announcement, Milei deepens Argentina’s alignment with Washington and Tel Aviv, placing the country among a small group of nations that officially recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
