Chelsea delivered a stunning performance at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, defeating PSG 3-0 to lift the Club World Cup in its first edition under the new format.

With a brace from Cole Palmer and a brilliant goal from Joao Pedro, the Blues were ruthless in front of goal and capitalized on every mistake by Luis Enrique’s side, which ended with ten men after Joao Neves was sent off.

In the second half, PSG pushed forward in search of a lifeline. That’s when Robert Sánchez stepped up. The Spanish goalkeeper produced a string of outstanding saves to deny Mbappé and others, ensuring that Chelsea’s clean sheet remained intact. 

The Blues had chances to extend the lead even further. Substitute Liam Delap came close twice, only for Donnarumma to prevent a heavier scoreline. Still, Chelsea’s dominance was never in doubt as the clock wound down. 

The closing stages turned heated, with tempers flaring and challenges flying in. Joao Neves received a straight red card, and after the final whistle, scuffles broke out between players and staff on both sides. Despite the ugly ending, nothing could overshadow Chelsea’s triumph. 

This title is more than just silverware. With the 2026 World Cup just a year away, Chelsea’s young and ambitious project has proven it can go toe-to-toe with Europe’s elite.
